Tim Holtz-January 2016 Tag

Hi everyone,

Here is my Tag for January.  I used everything from Tim or Ranger except for the embossing folder.  I hope you like it!

My Valentine-Pocket Page

Hi everyone,

It has sure been awhile since I have posted!  This is the second pocket page that I have created.  My Mom has started on making these pages over the last few months and we have decided to swap with each other. So we always get a well made page ftrom each other that are truly little works of art!

My pocket page consists one sheet of Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments-Be My Valentine paper in which I fussy cut most of the images.  I have been searching for this Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments paper for over a year now and finally found it.  So worth the wait!  I love these cupids!  I also used Authentique-Grace/Strong paper for the background.  This paper reminds me of vintage wallpaper which I just love to scrap with!

I think I used just about every major crafting line out there to make this pocket page which includes: Martha Stewart, Tim Holtz, My Minds Eye, Doodlebugs, Jolee's, Reminise, Darice.  I also used my new favorite tool-WRMK-The Photo Sleeve Fuse Tool for my sequin pockets.

Here are the pictures of my pocket page.  I hope you like it and Thanks for stopping by!

NSD Winner for Pin It Challenge!

Thanks to Colleen for picking my name to be the Pin It Challenge winner!  My envelope came the other day and inside was:

A gorgeous gray kitty card and a Michael's gift card!  Yeah!  Can't wait to use my gift card and do some shopping!  I just love this card that Colleen made for me-especially since it has a picture of my gray kitty-Graycie on it!  I am going to put this card into Graycie's scrapbook that I am working on.  This card is so creative and just love the colors she used.

Thanks again Colleen!  I enjoyed the challenge and can't wait until next year!

NSD 2015 Challenge: Some Assembly Required

This challenge was to make a box card.  I made one for Valentine's Day earlier this year.  So this is my second box card.  They are time consuming mostly due to finding the embellishments and putting them together inside the box.  Francine made it easier with her tutorial.

I used Bo Bunny Primrose collection for this box.  I also fussy cut all of the butterflies.  On the back is a Birthday stamp that is embossed.  Here is my entry.

NSD Challenge: Pin It!

Here is Gonescrappin's challenge:  I love Pinterest. I pin everything. I have so many crafty pins and the last time I actually used the inspiration was from a Pinterest challenge last year. LOL OK, let's go to our Pinterest boards and recreate a favorite pin. If you accept this challenge, post the pin and your version of it here.

My entry is from a Pin I saved for a Waterfall Folio.  I used Graphic 45 paper from Once Upon A Springtime!  I made this folio for my Mom for Mother's Day since she love Fairies.  I used a lot of Glossy accents on the cover.  Here are pics of my entry:

Thanks Colleen for the Inspiration!

NSD Challenge: Crafting with Negative Nellie

Here is Sara's challenge for NSD:  My challenge is Crafting With Negative Nelly: Use the Negative Portion of Your Cut.
You know....the part you usually throw away.
I often find myself using the negative portion of my cuts rather than the actual cut image for backgrounds and especially for my titles.

So here is my entry.  I made cricut calling cards last November of my cat Graycie using my cricut machine.  She likes to walk on the mat and stick her head in the machine while it is cutting so the calling card.  Well the cat scraps were so cute I kept them to use on a layout. I finally got to use them today.  I used my favorite Bo Bunny paper-Primrose. I also used the cut and put it on a journaling card that looks like a playing card and added bling to the corners.  This is a two page entry.  Thanks Sara for the inspiration.

NSD Smackdown Challenge

Hi everyone,

Here is a card I am entering into the NSD www.Smackdown challenge.  The challenge was to make a project with food in it.

So here is my entry.

I used Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home paper for the entire card including the punched out butterflies.   These are both cards for Mother's Day-Mom and MIL.  They both are into gardening so this was the perfect collection to use.

Hope you like it.

2015 NSD Challenge: Ready.. Set... Emboss!

Welcome to National Scrapbook Day!  It's finally here and the 2:00 pm challenge is: Ready...Set...Emboss!

I have provided links for 3 different types of embossing.  There are a lot of embossing videos on You Tube if you need any tutorials.

This video shows a cool paint or ink technique using an embossing folder and the Cuttlebug is not needed.

This video shows a cool Crayon Wax technique using various colors of crayons and inks.  I love how these backgrounds came out and would make gorgeous cards.  Time to get out the Crayons!

This video shows how to make metallic embossed elements.  Love it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ob-7qxbbsPA

Your challenge will consist of using at least one type of embossing on your project.  It can be wet, dry, wax or whatever you would like.  Extra points for more than one type of embossing or multiple projects.  Bonus points for using a cricut cut.  Have fun with this and play!  Above are a few videos that I enjoyed and wanted to try.

Here are my projects:

First is a scrapbook page using Honeycomb embossing folder and a picture of my baby Graycie.  Graycie is admiring my anniversary flowers and just thrilled to have her picture taken yet again.

Onto my project.  I painted my embossing folder with Tim Holtz Distress Paints-Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey.  I also added Americana Bright Yellow.  I sprayed the folder with Old Lace Glimmer Mist and Spiced Marmalade with heirloom gold perfect pearls mixed with water.   I used watercolor paper and pressed into embossing folder.  I used my Spiced marmalade spray on the flower also.  From some extra honeycomb painted paper, I punched out some butterflies to match the background.  I cut out a bumblebee from Create a Critter at 2.25 inches and adhered to an action wobbler.  I also die cut a frame from Tim Holtz's Ornate Frame using my Cuttlebug and grungeboard.  I painted the frame with Tim Holtz Antique Linen and when dry I used Glossy Accents on the frame and added Antique Linen Distress Glitter.

In my layout I have used a honeycomb embossed background with a die cut frame embossed with glitter and a cricut die cut.

For my next project, I used the same embossing technique as above but I used the Can Paisley Cuttlebug folder by Anna Griffin with Tim Holtz Distress Metallic Stains on watercolor paper.  The stains worked really well.

I cut my embossed watercolor paper to 2.25 x 6.5 inches.  I stamped Tim Holtz City Scapes London stamp onto my watercolor paper.  Love this stamp!  I used the Tim Holtz stencil-Traveler and used embossing paste and pasted on the word "Explore"  I colored this by using TH Antiqued Bronze Distress paint and a very small perfect pearls paint brush.  I used my TH metallic stains on the ribbon and inked the edges with Vintage photo ink.

I hope you like my bookmark!

Here are some backgrounds I created using my Crayola Crayons, my Cuttlebug and paints.  I will be using these in the future-maybe in mini albums.

Thanks for participating in this Challenge.  You have until 5/17 to post a picture of your project to the Circlette Message Board or on this blog.  Please leave a comment with a link to your project to enter.  A mystery cricut cartridge or a stamping/embossing prize will be awarded to a lucky participant.

Valentine Box and Card for Mom

Hi everyone!  I made a heart box and card from Graphic 45 Time to Flourish paper.  I used the stamp set from Sweet Sentiments.  I painted the box with Anique Mauve and Cherry Red Americana paint.  I used Martha Stewart Platinum glitter over the paint for shine.  I mod poged the box and then the G45 paper using matte mod podge.  I stamped the Sweet Sentiments Valentine stamps and fussy cut.  I pop dotted them onto the box.  I filled the box with my Mom's favorite candy-chocolate covered marzipan.  I also made my card from the G45 Time to Flourish line to match the box.  Thanks for stopping by.

Cricut Valentine Secret Swap

I received a goodie basket from MomtoMomof2.  She is so talented!  I love my handmade items.  I got a card organizer that is organized by month.  I love the cover.  She also handmade clay embellishments and alot of them!  Love them!  I received some of my favorite manufacturers:  Tim Holtz mini inks, metallic stains and mirrored stars.  MME Filled with Love 6x6 pad, and Jolee Valentine stickers.  She also wrapped all of my gifts with brown paper that was hand stamped with Valentine stamps and red and white twine bows.  So cute!  Thanks for all of the goodness!

Craftroom organization in 2015

I need some serious craftroom organization in 2015.  I need another bakers rack-maybe origami and some serious embellishment organization.  The only thing really organized is my Tim Holtz trinkets.  I used Darice bead boxes to organize my trinkets.  I use photo boxes to store large Martha Stewart punches and TH Distress Inks.  I need a binder and Avery Elle stamp envelopes for acryllic stamp packs.  I use Darice round Craft caddy w/5 organizers for brads and charms.

Happy New Year 2015!

Happy New Year 2015 to all of my friends and family!

Cricut Secret Sister Swap-Gifts I sent

My swap partner was GrannyAnne.  I met her at the Cincinnati meetup in 2011.  I was so happy to hear she was my partner for this swap since we actually met each other.  The handmade item I made for her was a shadow box!  My very first one!  I wanted to keep it for myself!  Graycie had to be in a picture of course.  Also a pic of my card made for Simple Stories paper.  On the box I used Everyday cricut on the block for letters and pics of cricut.  I also covered the c-7 ornament with red tinsel glitter.
