Tim Holtz-March 2012 Tag

Hi everyone,

I made a simplier version of  the mosaic butterfly tag.  I did order the walnut stain, the TH sayings stamps, the wonder tape and the TH Lost and Found paper stash but of course they are not in yet.  Since I would like to enter the TH contest, I came up with this butterfly tag but will make the mosaic one once the supplies are in.   I went to Pat Catan's the other day and found the large die cut Butterfly (TH Alterations Bigz Fanciful Flight Die) on sale for $10 and the wood grain and brick embosser (TH Alterations Texture Fades folders) on sale for $6.00 so I made this tag.  I started with my kraft paper and used the TH tag die cutter.  Next I cut a hole through the top of the wood grain embossing folder and slid the kraft tag into it and embossed with my cuttlebug.  I case you need to know, I used the two "B" plates to make the cuttlebug sandwich.  Then I used the colorbox cat eyes Chestnut roan inker and ran over the wood grain tag.  I also used my paper distresser to distress the edges of the tag and inked with the cat eyes Chestnut roan.   One thing to know this Fanciful Flight die can be used on a regular cuttlebug.  Just because it says Bigz-I used this on regular cuttlebug with no problems (also the Tattered Florals). I used the Fanciful Flight to cut out the black butterfly. This die has both the solid part and the cut out butterfly part-so I embossed both on black paper.  You need to cut two images each to make the butterfly.  I used My Mind's Eye-Stella and Rose 6x6" paper pad for the mosiac part of the butterfly.  I took one piece of paper and used the Fanciful Flight die and cut two pieces each for the butterfly mosaic.  This paper was patterned with several colors and looks mosaic.  I glued the black cut out paper, the mosaic paper and the black solid paper together to form the butterfly-3 layers.  I inked the butterfly with Colorbox-Treasurers copper ink.   I used the TH Alterations Tattered Florals and cut the two smallest flowers out of purple and light blue felt and added a brad from paper studios I believe. I stamped my sentiment (from Pink Stamper I believe).  I did not come out dark enough so I hand wrote over it with black marker.  I adhered the flower to the bottom of the tag.  I put pop dots on the back of the butterfly and adhered to the tag.  I folded up the edges of the butterfly for dimension.  I added TH Idea-ology trinket pin and Darice tokens to the pin and added to the tag.  I added a pink sheet ribbon to the tag and completed.  I hope you like it!
